Lighting Maintenance Case Study

The Client:

Two Storey Car Park, Bracknell, Berkshire

Background:

Litenow were called to repair the defective lighting system in a car park used by employees of several companies operating within the same building.

Existing Lighting:

The lighting system was made up of approximately 100 fluorescent light fittings arranged over different levels of the car park.

The Problem:

Inadequate levels of lighting within the car park area caused many staff to feel vulnerable.

Previous contractors had tried unsuccessfully to rectify the lighting problem and the car park was left without adequate lighting for several months.

During the winter months many employees requested that the site security staff escort them to their vehicles at the end of the working day.

The Solution:

Litenow fully investigated the lighting control system, diagnosed the fault and returned the lighting system to full operation within 2 hours of arriving on site.

A relatively minor lighting system defect had created a situation that was causing anxiety to many employees. Lack of adequate maintenance and a lack of knowledge had given rise to this potentially dangerous situation.
