Litenow completes AGD Lighting Refurbishment
AGD Systems Ltd is a privately owned and independent Company dedicated to the design and manufacture of traffic detection and pedestrian crossing products from its base in Staverton near Cheltenham. With the AGD ethos of “achieving a pre-eminent position within its chosen markets by producing cost-effective environmentally sustainable technology solutions” they have embarked on a range of energy saving projects from new boilers, 20kwh solar pv, video conferencing to efficient lighting.
In an effort to improve energy-efficiency, AGD enlisted commercial lighting specialist, Litenow Limited, to provide 130 off fluorescent T5 conversion lamps, 72 off PJR Fittings, 30 off SMD GU10 down lights and 11 Led tubes.
Using Save It Easy conversions, a plug-in device from Energys Group – a specialist in low-carbon retrofit technologies – Litenow was able to slot the replacement low-energy T5 lamps into the existing fittings at the AGD site.
As a result of the project, AGD is expected to reduce its annual lighting energy consumption across three buildings by 52%, saving 9,099 kWh of electricity every year. This translates to an annual cost saving of £1,078. With the aid of European Regional Development Fund IYRE matched funding this project is set to pay for itself in less than 3 years.
