Litenow ensures all redundant lamps, fittings and packaging are reprocessed through accredited agents.

All lamps are disposed of as hazardous waste and a Waste Transfer Note is obtained for each consignment. Packaging is separated and reused wherever possible Litenow is ISO 14001 certified. We ensure that our operations causes the minimal amount of impact on the environment.

We promote Reuse, Reduce and Recycle throughout every area of our business.

Litenow is registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier and our vehicles are equipped to carry redundant lamps for reprocessing.

Although the majority of new light fixtures are LED there are still legacy systems with millions of gas discharge lamps being removed from commercial premises each year. The WEEE regulations were introduced to drastically reduce the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic goods, including lamps, by encouraging the re-use and recycling of these materials.
